RANKINGS OF FACTOR AFFECTING FORMWORK CAUSING DELAY IN CONSTRUCTION PROJECT BY RII METHOD

Abstract

In India most of the construction projects are getting delayed and this has become the most common problem now a days. Most of the construction projects are heavily influenced by causes of delay. For successful completion of any project one must know the factors that affects on delay. There are various reasons for delay in construction project in which formwork also plays an equally important role. Formwork is use to support structures for creating structures. Formwork by name means “The Mold” which means it is the casing into which the casting material, usually concrete, is poured to obtain the desired structural shape. The various formworks are timber, aluminum, plastic formwork etc. The selection of various factors has been decided from various literature review and one to one communication. Questionnaire has been prepared while keeping in mind about different mega projects. Questionnaire is allocated/distributed to various parties like owner, structural consultants, contractors and manufacturer, architects for formwork in various parts of Central Gujarat region. The study by Questionnaire approach will try to reduce inefficiency which will then cumulate into RII (relative importance index)
