Quantitative seismic analysis of steel frames

Abstract

Steel structure plays a vital important role in the construction industry since last decades. It is quite important for an engineer to design a structure that can sustain seismic loads. In the current Indian code (IS 800-2007) a multistory steel frame building. Structure system the Shear capacity can be increased by introducing Steel bracings. There are ‘n’ number of possibility to arrange steel bracing such as D, K and V. type’s eccentric bracing. As per IS code 800-2007 various types of eccentric bracing is designed of typical six-storey steel frame building. In present study D, K and V are the different types of eccentric bracing.
