Construction Cost Optimization

Abstract

Construction is one of the fastest growing industry of India and plays an vital role in development of Country. Cost Overrun is important factor from the perspective of the economic considerations. Many times actual cost of construction is much higher than estimated initially causing loss in project profit. Many projects are facing the problem of cost overrun which is very harmful from the development perspective. Questionnaire survey was conducted across client, consultants and contractors of Pune region. An attempt is made in this paper to find causes of cost overrun in Pune region and recommendations to avoid cost overrun.
