Review: Microstructure Analysis of Mortar Enhanced with Nano Particles

Abstract

This review paper presents the micro structure analysis of cement mortar incorporating with various nano particles. Micro structural study is an exclusive technique to get the morphological features of material. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction Analysis (XRD) are the general technique used to visualize the micro structural behaviour of cement paste during hydration process. From this study will helps to identify with the unique behaviour of cement paste. The hydration process in binding material will leads to formation of C-S-H gel, Ca(OH) ₂ crystals and nano particle compounds which influences the properties of mortar.
