Automatic Gain Control at Higher frequency - A Survey

Foram Rupak kumar Makwana, Dr. Arun Nandurbarkar

Abstract

Automatic gain control provides controlled signal amplitude at its output, despite variation of the amplitude in the input signal. Automatic gain control (AGC) is used to adjust the signal to keep its level within some desired range. In this paper we discuss various methodology has been done to design an AGC at microwave frequency. This paper contains important results reported so far. It includes continuous AGC and Sampled AGC for microwave Radiometer, Digital automatic gain control for high-frequency software radio receivers that use baseband signal processing,  variable gain low noise amplifier used in FM receiver.

Keywords: Automatic gain control, AGC, Digitally controlled AGC, Variable Gain Low Noise Amplifier (VGLNA) in FM receiver.
