Quantifying Solar Rooftop PV using Helioscope

Abstract

Increasing electricity tariff and growing effects of global warming is attracting the use of rooftop solar technology.Rooftop Solar Technology (RST) not only gives instant saving but also prevents consumers from increasing electricity tariff and helps them to contribute in keeping the environment clean. Understanding the rooftop solar is important for planning, accommodating grid capacity, bringing in effective financing schemes and adaptive energy policies. In this paper HelioScope is used to simulate solar array output for a specific location under a range of technology, architecture and environmental assumptions.
