A Novel MPPT Technique in a Solar Photovoltaic Array

Dr. Shashi Bhushan Singh, Guvvala Nagaraju

Firstly, this paper rigorously reviews the existing maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques to highlights their merits and shortfalls. It is revealed that all these techniques have their specific advantages as well as limitations. Hence, none of these techniques alone is sufficient to provide MPPT, most efficiently. Here, using the merits of two existing MPPT techniques, namely, ‘Perturb and Observe (P&O)’ and ‘Constant Voltage (CV)’, a hybrid technique has been presented. The proposed technique is implemented with MATLAB®/SIMULINK®.
