Vibration Signature Analysis of Railway Buffer Springs

Nilay A. Raval, Himanshu K. Yadav

Abstract

This paper focuses on non-linear dynamic behavior of railway buffer spring during working conditions of rail vehicles. Here author had modeled rail vehicle as a multi-body system having multi degree of freedom to study the non-linear behavior of buffer springs. A CAD model of same multi-body system also called semi-definite system in this case is developed using computer software and simulation of system is carried out. Then after, the experimental setup of such a multi-body system is also developed in a laboratory mainly for validation of results. Then after a prototype of such system is to be constructed for experimental verification of such multi-degree of freedom system.
