Step up DC-DC converters for PV applications: A Review

Swati Sarangi, Dr. H.K. Verma

Abstract

The demand for electricity has risen with the rapid increase in population leading to depletion of fossil fuels. Alternate sources of energy such as renewable sources of energy like wind, solar PV and fuel cell are being brought into use. Renewable  sources  like  solar  PV  and  fuel  cell stack  are  operated  at  low  voltage typically in the range of 20V-40V.  For certain applications which require higher voltage such as grid -tied systems, it is required to boost up the voltage. In this paper classification of topologies and step up converters for the application of solar has been presented.
