A Study on Load Leveling Algorithms in Cloud Computing
Abstract
CIoud computing may be a new computing paradigm for accessing, manipulating on-line applications and resources on the net. The main function of this paradigm is sharing of resources rather than individual ownership of personal devices or local servers. The ‘CIoud’ in ‘CIoud computing’ refers to the internet based computing paradigm that it actually is. This means that the computational power, storage, the software are given to the organizational computers in a large scale data centre and is sent to the client devices via the internet. This differs from the traditional computing model because the cost of installing and maintaining is eliminated. This results in higher customer satisfaction and higher resource utilization as compared to regular computing. This can also result in higher chance of system shutdown or imbalance in the number of requests or load on a particular system if not handled properly with tested algorithms. This is what is aimed for the paper, to review some of the present algorithms for load balancing.
