Brief Review on Corrosion & its Prevention

Abstract

Corrosion is destruction of metal because of its reaction with surroundings. It is also responsible for reducing the life of equipments. Corrosion of the oil and gas pipelines not only reduces the service life of the pipelines but also may cause major accidents.The Study of corrosion inhibition of mild steel using three different techniques: weight loss, poten-tiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Mild steel is highly sensitive toward moist SO₂ and develops corrosion cell on the surface of mild steel and undergoes with corrosion reaction. The current review summarizes research carried out on corrosion and it’s Prevention.
