Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR)

Abstract

Computerized license plate recognition (ALPR) is a laptop gadget which robotically recognizes the registration code from the digital photo ie. From captured photo of the car. This gadget involves diverse strategies along with picture capturing, Localization of number Plate, Segmentation of characters and Optical character recognition (OCR) of the alphanumeric characters. the primary aim of this device is to layout and expand an efficient image processing strategies and algorithms for localization of license plate in captured image, segmentation of characters from that registration code and reputation of each character from the segmented part using Open laptop vision Library. This device has been applied in board computer referred to as Beagle Bone Black with the aid of OpenCV and Python programming language. Many programs can be advanced the usage of this device which includes protection, motorway speed detection, light violation, handwritten text identity, detecting stolen cars, and automatic toll series systems.
