Analyzing importance of Construction and Demolition Waste Management in Construction Industry

The construction Industry in India is developing rapidly and it plays an important role in overall economic development of the country and it is expected that by 2050, India will be the third largest economy globally with construction industry being an integral part of it. The construction activity is accompanied by production of debris material which is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to discard. Further, it is environmentally unfriendly, and costly to project budgets. Consequently, this forced government to enforce construction companies to develop effective site waste management plan for achieving sustainability and increasing living quality of our mother planet. This article discusses about the integrated waste management plan and waste hierarchy required for achieving sustainability of humankind and planet earth. It also states that project activities should be planned at every stage by every personnel, who are involved, to minimize the overall waste generation.
