Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Thermal Conductivity for a Metal Foam
Abstract
The main characteristic of the degree of thermal insulation of a material is its thermal conductivity. The task of the present work is experimental and theoretical determination of the thermal conductivity of foam aluminum materials. We analyze the possibility of their use for thermal insulation. Theoretical work with a fluid in void cells of that foam was reported in this paper. The convective heat transfer occur in the foam cellular space. That the effective of thermal conductivity for liquid-filled foams greater than for gas-filled foams.
