Helical Coil Heat Exchanger With Cross Counter Flow Arrangement with Combined Effect of Multi Flow Enhancement

Prof. Jayesh Bute

Abstract

The straight tube heat exchanger consumes large space but offers less surface area of contact. This existing type of heat exchanger provides only one type of flow in single pass. If the two types of flow are introduce in single pass simultaneously, the combine effect may improve the performance of heat exchanger. To improve the efficiency of heat exchanger one must think of heat transfer enhancement in heat exchanger which can help to minimize the problems associated with conventional heat exchangers. Energy and material saving considerations as well as environmental challenges in the industry have stimulated the demand of New Design for high efficiency heat exchanger. For this investigation, a new type of heat exchanger with multi flow by using copper tubes having straight and U Bends is constructed which wants to test the advantages of multi flow over existing type of heat exchanger in the context of heat transfer and effectiveness. The design selected is one of Regenerative type of shell and tube heat exchanger. This paper relates to Design of new type of heat exchanger through novel cost effective method for increasing its effectiveness through relative advantages by using multi flow through copper tubes having straight and U Bends .To make this new type of heat exchanger with multi flow become practically, best design for the heat exchanger was chosen.
