Pushover and fatigue analysis of fixed offshore jacket structure
Abstract
In this paper, jacket structure analysis is performed to evaluate the load-carrying capacity under fatigue loading and extreme loading. The support structures in deepwater like fixed jackets tend to lack axis symmetry, hence have different capacities for wave loading in various directions. The jacket studied here is discretized using simple finite element method and nonlinear analysis. The prediction of fatigue damage of members can further aid in the process of inspection planning and maintenance of the offshore structure. The analysis can be further developed for producing optimal cost-effective structural designs with enhanced structural safety under extreme or accidental loads.
