Energy Pay-Back Time and Air Pollution Mitigation for a Working 100 kW Grid Connected Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant

Abstract


Energy Pay-Back Time (EPBT) has been analyzed for an operating 100 kW grid connected Photovoltaic power plant situated in Kalyanpur near Delhi. Actual power generated by the system over a period has been monitored and used for calculating EPBT. Air pollutant and CO2 mitigation potentials of PV Power Systems have been discussed. The analysis shows that EPBT are lower than life time of the 100 kW grid connected Photovoltaic power plant and there are significant environmental advantages during its life time after EPBT period is over.
