Shweta O. Rathi, Ritesh J. Laddha

Abstract

Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is an ecofriendly materials, which can be used in commercial and residential construction. It is penetrable, hypoallergenic, recyclable, reusable and renewable . The density of AAC block is about one third that of traditional brick therefore by using AAC block we can reduce dead load of superstructure by which we can save the cost of construction to some extent. Therefore management of cost effectiveness can be achieved by using AAC block for construction of wall in different types of building. AAC manufactured from common and abundant natural raw materials, therefore it is extremely resource-efficient and ecofriendly. The energy consumed in the production process emits no pollutants and creates no byproducts or toxic waste products. The aspects of AAC blocks related to the light weight construction methods, its properties, production methods, cost-effectiveness of using AAC block, its salient features and advantages of using AAC blocks is carried out. The compressive strength of AAC blocks is comparatively more than traditional clay brick In this study, the analysis of 1 BHK, 2 BHK, 3 BHK, hospital, market, school, industrial – shed, flat scheme (G+1, G+2, G+3, G+4) is carried out and various results are obtained and attempt has been made to replace the red bricks with AAC blocks
