A Review on Comparative Study of RCC, Steel and Composite Structures by Using ETABS Software
Abstract
Steel-concrete composite structures have become quite popular in nowadays because of their advantages against conventional construction. Concrete structures are bulky and give extra amount of seismic force and lower degree of deflection. Although steel structures guide extra amount of deflection and ductility to the structures, which is useful in resisting in seismic force. Composite structures combine the entire properties of both steel and concrete along with speedy construction and lesser construction cost, and fire safety etc. Intention of the present swot is to comparing analysis and design of R.C.C. structures, steel structures and composite structures. The Reinforce cement concrete slab is used in all three structures. The entire structural members are analysed and design for same gravity loadings. Structural members i.e. Column and Beam are constructed each of R.C.C., Steel or composite sections. For comparing results ETAB-S 2016 software is used. Structurally strong and aesthetically pleasing buildings are being constructed by composite construction meeting the particular requirements of large span, building height, soil condition, time, flexibility and economy. Comparative study concludes that for high rise building composite structure are more economical than RCC and steel structure.
