Abstract

In this paper, the focus is given on the Implementation of modified JPEG Image compression algorithm. A lossy compression scheme is an approach to represent the same data approximately in the image, so that less memory is being used to represent the image. Humans can’t see colors at high frequency this benefit mainly utilized in JPEG compression scheme. These high frequencies located points are actually the data points in the image that are removed during the compression. Modified JPEG compression works best on images with smooth color transitions and textured images. In this paper the Modified method and traditional method JPEG compression scheme is compared on basic of PSNR and Compression Ratio.
