Nano Applications of Vanadium Ion Doped Phosphate Glass

Mr. Vijay Kumar Chavan, Mr. M Sreenivasulu

Abstract

Vanadium Doped Phosphate glasses are prepared by Melt Quench Technique method. Five samples (S1 to S5) prepared by varying V2O5 in proportional ratio to the Base mixture composition. The prepare samples are subjected to characterization techniques like X-ray diffraction, UV- VIS Spectrometers scanning electron microscope and Raman  spectroscopic techniques, . The Vertical Zigzag lines in X ray diffraction indicates that, All the five phosphate glass samples are amorphous in nature.  The UV-VIS spectrometer gives double peak optical absorption spectra, by which the optical band gap energy and Urbach energy values are calculated and it is used for the preparation of nano thin films.  The breakage of P=O and formation of P-O-P bonds are observed in Raman Spectra. Morphological studies of these glasses attributes to the Bio medical applications like scaffold and tissues.
