Integrated Forest Fire and Wildlife Monitoring System using Wireless Sensor Network

Manu V S, Dr Thangadurai N

Abstract

Sensors are the most important part of a monitoring system. There are a wide variety of sensors such as temperature sensor, humidity sensor, proximity sensor, Doppler radar sensor, sound sensor, Infrared Sensor, Ultrasonic Sensor etc. The Sensors are devices which convert physical quantities into a signal which can be measured electrically. Environment, Forest fire and wildlife monitoring systems employ a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) with many sensor nodes to obtain data continuously. In this paper, the different sensors used for the monitoring is discussed.
