Abstract

Now a day the government is investing huge sums in building the infrastructure of the country, while the roads are no exception. International funding agencies like the World Bank are funding highway projects and use of advanced construction technology and superior construction materials is being emphasized. This marked the epoch of Indian roads. Many of the project documents stipulate norms for riding quality assurance and include penalty clauses to safeguard against failure in meeting norms.
