The Study on Application of High Speed Trains on Existing Rails Routes

Abstract

The country like India is one of the oldest countries in the world to have railway networks. The Rail transport is most important mode of transport in India. Indian Railways handles all main-line rail operations in India. It is one of the busiest networks in the world, which transports 8.10billion passengers and more over 1.10 billion tons of freight annually. But Indian trains are still experiencing a bad smear moving at slow speed giving its users a bad experience whether it may be travel or freight transportation. As India has become one of the economic hotspot of the world map, its railway system has been left behind in terms of progression in speed and safety. So there is a severe need to improve the speed of trains in India to wipe the slur of late trains and become a world class service supplier.
