Preparation of green building template irrespective of nature based on GRIHA and IGBC comparison

Abstract


The global concern for climate change, global warming and increasing pollution has made it imperative for the policy makers throughout the world to devise green strategies for sustainable future. The policy makers have set up the bench marks for green buildings as rating tools. In India, the most commonly used rating tools are GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) and IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) rating systems. In this paper a comparison between GRIHA and IGBC rating systems for large developments such as institutions and hospitals were made. This study attempts to develop a roadmap which will cover some basic guidelines to achieve minimum green building rating for buildings irrespective in nature
