Forward Converter with Modified Reset Winding for Wide Input Voltage Range
Abstract
In this paper, a forward converter with modified reset winding is evaluated. Also in this paper active clamp circuit is introduced for voltage rising. In this paper 100 kHz transformer is used having tertiary winding. This tertiary winding is utilized for transformer reset. Duty cycle is improved from 0.4% to 0.7%.To overcome some limitation of forward converter no. of soft switching techniques and duty extension methods for two switch forward converter have been proposed. By using MOSFET's soft switching is achieved. Circuit complexity of circuit is reduced. This type of forward converter suitable for spacecraft power supplies, which require high reliability. Zero voltage switching through active clamp network is achieved.
