Parameter Estimation of an Induction Motor using Harmony Search Algorithm
Abstract
In this research paper, parameter estimation of induction motor is being carried out using Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA). The parameters viz. rotor resistance R2 and rotor reactance X2 are estimated based on maximizing the starting torque and stator and rotor copper losses are reduced to achieve the maximum efficiency. Both the classical as well as intelligent methods are being reviewed for parameter estimation of an induction motor. Later, harmony search algorithm is applied to it to achieve maximum starting torque and efficiency respectively.
