Internet of Things: Applications in Remote Health Monitoring
Abstract
The Internet of things (IoT) consists of physical devices and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators and form a network of these objects to connect and exchange data. There are a variety of applications of IoT in each and every sectors of human life including healthcare. This application of IoT in the healthcare sector is changing the health monitoring at very rapidly and is providing with more benefits. This paper aims to review few of such Iot based healthcare systems. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology of IoT when used with its smart objects for healthcare application helps to develop an entirely new system where objects are able to combine their virtual and real life existence, CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol) based remote health monitoring systems are beneficial than other protocols, Power management policies are very important to develop such applications, agent based implementation adds semantic logic and semantic value based information to make the system smarter and intelligent.
