Multithreaded Brain Image Analysis For Tumour Detection

Prof. S. G. Kulkarni, Swati Sudi

Abstract

In the recent years multithreading analysis is the most preferred task. In this work with the help of MATLAB and OpenMP the classification of the brain as normal brain or the tumoured brain is done. And the performance is analyzed. CT scanned images of the brain are considered for this system development. A developed system has high accuracy and less processing time for the classification. Multitasking and parallel execution by the multithreading are considered for the increase in the speed.
By considering the Computed Tomography (CT) images of the brain the system called Computer Aided Design (CAD) for the tumour detection is developed. Median filter is used to increase the contrast of the brain image. After the pre-processing the brain image the segmentation is done. The segmented brain images are considered for the classification of the brain image as normal brain or the tumoured brain. For this classification Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier is used. And the accuracy of the system is said to be very high and the processing time is very less.
