Review Paper on Portable Water Disinfection Unit for Disaster Relief by Using Solar and Thermal Energy

Sagar C. Adagale

Abstract

This report addresses to the problem of drinkable water after the disaster and method to overcome this problem at some extent. Flooding and other disasters make water infected that is water Contains microorganism, pathogens and other viruses and spreads diseases. There are various techniques are available to disinfect the water. In this paper, we express brief introduction to the new technique of water disinfection which is developed by combining Pasteurization and exposure to the sunlight method. This is achieved with a portable device which mainly consists two heat exchangers and heat pipe. Use of renewable energy, portability, and easiness for use these abilities makes the device appropriate for disaster relief.
