Illegal Parking Detection System using Raspberry Pi

Abstract


Due to an increase in population, there is a necessity to increase in the production of vehicles. This leads to demand for more parking lots. This becomes an acute problem, especially when we deal with metro and fairly large cities. A solution to this problem is hence appreciated on priority basis. We have to cater to the illegal parking aspect as well. The new technique called “Illegal parking detection System (IPDS)” is proposed to detect an illegal parking of the vehicles in non-parking area. Even though parking areas are allotted, people park vehicles in a non-parking area causing obstacles for transportation. Features of IPDS not only include detection of illegal parking but capturing the vehicles which are parked in non-parking area and sending information of those vehicles to the Traffic Office. The proposed system will help people be more traffic disciplined and make their lives easier.
