Abstract

In CDMA cellular communication system power control is a major resource management scheme. Power control must be used in CDMA system to ensure every user transmits at minimum power, thus maximizing network capacity. The major capacity limiting factors are the co-channel and adjacent-channel interferences. The transmission power is controlled with the help of various Power control algorithms. The required quality of service for the users is guaranteed with lowest possible transmission powers. In this paper an evolution of various power control algorithms are compared for third generation WCDMA system
